teach my kids that everyones the same color if you close your eyes

Theres always a daily reminder to my children, but it’s always the same “Treat people the way YOU want to be treated.” Hopefully its a lesson that will last a lifetime.

What helps me is that I have friends of every race. My best friend is married to a wonderful man, he is Guyanese. Many of our visits include many of his friends and family, so my children are exposed and play with adults and children of different races. My children are also of Hispanic and Scottish decent, yeah talk about a mix! I keep my truths and beliefs and instill them into my boys, I explain we all feel and bleed the same, nobody is to be left behind, ever.

And make my kids see that everyone is the same on the inside, its only when your heart becomes tainted that the ugliness makes you different.
