How I did it: i went to rome to celebrate finishing school and my gcse exams, we did all the usual site seeing trips, trying not to look like a tourist. found the best pizza place EVER around the corner from our hotel and if i go back again i'm deffo going there. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well, lets just say i did it not so well. Heres what not to do: Give yourself more than 2 and a half days in Rome. You will kick yourself for not seeing the Vatican Museum! (I am)Keep it cheap, I mean Rome's not where your gonna eat Italy's best pizza--its gonna be in some little cafe in Naples.Don't pay for the combined tour of the Colosseum and the Forum.Somehow i feel I got ripped off...DO go out, and visit the Travesterre neighborhood… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Same formula I've used for every other goal achievement:1. Focus on what I want as specifically as possible2. Do everything I can from where I am with what I've got3. Visualize the goal daily and think about it as a certainty4. Allow the Universe to fill in the missing pieces and deliver the finished product. It's a simple formula and it works! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took a little tour of Italy, including Rome. But the highlight was actually Venice. Anyway, I'm glad I visited all the Italian cities, they're quite impressive. Read how I did it…
Val is having FUN every day
How I did it: I joined a tour from my hometown. We spent the whole week in Rome, with a few day excursions. It was a great experience. I saw the Colosseum right after I saw the movie Gladiator which made it extra cool! Read how I did it…

2009.06.07 While walking through town yesterday I dropped into a Travel Agent’s office and picked up the Thomas Cook package tour booklet for Rome (and other places too). I read through it over lunch and discovered that many of the flight/hotel pairing were reasonably priced and the hotels well situated. I was encouraged (though all the trip are based on double occupancy).
Expatica is making her goals concrete and measurable!
This is going to be an easy one, since I am leaving for Rome tomorrow! Today, I need to bring down my spring clothes, pack, get some money, go to the pharmacy, buy some snacks, and get a modem that work with pay as you go.
this a very long term goal - will cost a fortune and i don’t see this happening for some while yet….but will make a budget and try to find a set of smaller goals to aim for to achieve this

My favourite place in Europe, easily. No where else was like I expected it to be but Rome was everything and more – amazing architecture, great food, clear skies, gorgeous people, little cobblestone laneways with vine covered restaurants. Beautiful.
