create a masterpiece

I worked on a mixed-media collage piece in Art 102 this past semester. It’s a masterpiece to me. I’ll be hanging it up in my dorm room this August :)

To do this, I would probably have to finish my other goal, “draw more” because I’m nowhere near creating a masterpiece.

Well, what is a masterpiece? It doesn’t have to be necessarily a painting… I just want to create something I (and others) believe to be beautiful… in a way that’s unique and definitely me. I guess I want to pour my soul out into a single piece of work… and let it become my prize possession.

But the big question is, will I ever be satisfied? The thing with art is there is no limit. Most artists aim to do better each time and never let themselves settle with what they have. Hmmm… still, I want to do this.

life interrupted art and i have wasted 15 yrs swinging from one extreme to the other. i know i can do this. it is such a waste
