How to learn to speak french
It made me
confident
 "I moved to France, probably the most sure (and traumatizing) way to speak French fluently."
How I did it: I immersed myself in books and listened to France culture all the time, and of course all those French people around me speaking French helped a little. Lessons & tips: For every new vocabulary word you learn try to repeat it in five different sentences within a short time-frame, if you're more advanced try to look up French words by their definition (in French), and then maybe a week or two later look up the English translation, I find that it helps to ground the meaning but not link it in your brain to English words (which will slow down your thought process) Resources: http://www.radiofrance.fr/chaines/france-culture2/sommaire/

Well, after trying demos and freeware products online i thought i’d try my local library and got 2 products to try.
Learn French now by Transparent software
Learn to speak French by Pimsleur
Hopefully one of these will be the one i can feel most comfortable with and actually learn something…

I’m restudying my “French for Dummies” text book I began studying almost two years ago now. Don’t know how long I’ll stay committed this time. Lets see… 19 chapters left. 3-5 days per chapter. 57 – 95 days or 2 – 3 months.

So I was a little late with viewing Michael Moore’s Sicko(documentary), but after seeing this I am more than convinced that I want to experience something outside of the US and not just on holiday. Perhaps living abroad for a few years…Hence, learning to speak French…
