run the Western States 100

I like to give reasons why I have goals, but this one is tough.

• We are runners; it is intrinsic to being human:

• As Dean Karnazes says, “there is magic in misery”. Struggle gives us meaning.
• It sounds like it has the potential of being an almost religious experience, which fascinates me.

Sounds like a blast

I ran 30 miles today in 3:54:57
I can’t even imagine running 70 more miles, but I guess that’s just something to slowly develop.
Right now I’m more focusing on running fast road races, but one day I definitely want to do the Western States!

Not next year, but I’d really love to do it at some point.
I’ve already run 2 marathons and a 50k trail run and running another 50k on Sunday.

Okay, so I haven’t even run a marathon yet…or anything further than 5.2 miles, but I really want to run this. So, I’ll work on it. By the time I’m 30. So 4 years of training starts now!
