I finally completed the article I was writing – it was not easy to motivate myself for it but when I was doing it, there was really no problem.
I need to do more of this – finish stuff, complete it and move on. When we don’t complete things, we deny ourselves the pleasure of completion and accomplishment.
KikiScorpio92 I don't like you , but still can't get you off my lips ...
I’m hopeless at completely things. Its worse at school cause it’s my last year and coursework deadlines. I failed that but after being told so many times “if oyu get into this habit your be like this the rest of your life” i’m finally starting to get. But I know I got a long way to go :)
Michael has to revise some goals
Maybe it’s ok not to complete things!
Maybe you’re the type of person that samples from the smorgasbord of life?
I am in the middle of reading this book called “Refuse to Choose” by Barbara Sher that talks about the “Scanner” type who is interested in nearly everything, is into a bunch of things at once, and can’t seem to stay focused on any one thing. And it’s ok—in fact it’s really cool!
Often these people appear to leave things unfinished but the reality is that they explore things until satisfied with it and then move on, even if the project they started remains incomplete. Of course, some folks leave stuff unfinished for other reasons. :)
Highly recommend the book.
has helped me become more mindful and connected. i now feel much more present and able to contribute creatively.
I agree. I do a lot of things, but seldom complete any of them. Instead, I move on to another one and leave the current. That means a lot of things remain undone, which is bad. Maybe I should be more patient with passion for doing one thing at a time.
i have lots of different projects on the go which i tend to not properly complete. sure, i finish them, hit deadlines etc etc, but i quickly move on to the next thing, what i dont do is reflect on what i’ve learned from the current project in the process, properly categorise it and put it to bed. i will start to look at how i can be COMPLETE with my projects, and see if this gives me a less busy mind with more space for creativity.
i’m going to reflect more …
Thought I’d better at least write an entry. I finish things every day, and I have incomplete things around me too. I’m not sure how many entries I will write on this goal, but I thought at least one entry would be a good start.
