Having rest is very important part of life.

Today I took time to just "retreat" 23 months ago

It was the first of the month – as I set the goal and I did everything I had hoped and more.

Very relaxing. No electronics for 5 hours!!!!

That was everything. I will do this again.

I have a great couch and living room. It is pure heaven.

Spa at Home 23 months ago

I have the coziest, most wonderful home. I should stay in it at least one day of the month. I will pick the 1st of each month as my day (or the first sunday of each month) and stay home creating a spa day for me.

Hard to do this one.. 2 years ago

because it is hard to get a day when the house has nobody else here. I feel like I need to be alone in order to have a pampering day. Even when my kids are out at school, my husband works from home currently so I really would like a retreat day if I can get one.

Done for 4 months now 2 years ago

Best thing I do for myself 3 years ago

I’ve started trying to do this as often as possible. I love spending a Saturday watching football or reading, etc. I’m beginning to pick up cheap things I can do to make my home feel more retreat-like. For example, I’m currently making a sleep basket to put next to my bed. It has relaxing CDs, lavender spray, earplugs, and an eye mask. The idea is to stop my tons of books from encroaching upon my sleep space. Any other ideas?

This is ongoing 3 years ago

But I am marking it as done to make space for another goal.

Doing another one 3 years ago

this weekend. Woohoo!

Recharging the "I" batteries 3 years ago

When I first took the Myers-Briggs personality type test a few years ago and we got our results, our trainer explained that being an Introvert (I) or Extrovert (E) in the test didn’t necessarily have anything to do with being shy or outgoing; rather, it was how you recharge your batteries. “I” types need quiet time to themselves to clear their heads, while “E” types need to be surrounded by people.

I definitely need some quiet alone time to recharge. Now that it is getting warmer and my husband will be playing golf, it should be easier to do this. I took my first retreat day last Friday after the conference last week, and it was great. :-)
