Learn to play the violin or cello

I want to learn either one ^_ cello sounds great and violin accompanying flute sounds just ….beautiful. The problem is that I need to achieve straight a before my parents let me =(

This is a long term goal, but I did see that someone on campus is offering lessons. I think I might call…hmmm.

My boyfriend decided to study guitar and let me use his violin. So the violin vs. cello dilema is solved.

I posted an ad today looking for a violin teacher in my neighborhood! Hopefully I’ll find someone fun. And affordable.

What should beginner violin lessons cost? I’d imagine an increase for pain and suffering.

I need to decide between learning cello or violin. Here are my thoughts so far: Violins are nice, compact instruments, while cellos need to be booked a separate airplane seat when traveling. Nothing can get your toe tapping like a fiddle, but nothing can tug on your heart strings like a cello. Violins are very elegant to play, but straddling a cello is not so ladylike. Violins are smaller, and probably more inexpensive to purchase, but nothing says “hey, I play an instrument” like lugging a giant cello case around town.
Decisions, decisions…

I have a violin gathering dust under my bed that hasnt been played in a long time….all I can say about this goal is that you really need to join an orchestra to get the best out of either instrument…
