Hoping for a backpacking trip eventually in SA. Is a cruise pretty much the only way to get to Antartica nowadays?

i’m more than halfway there, can check the following off the list:
North America (obviously! since i live here)
South America
Europe
Asia
all that’s left is:
Africa
Australia
Antarctica (the hardest, most expensive, and of course, the coldest one!)

I’ve been to Asia and Europe and … well that’s it.
So 5 more to go.
I’ll go to North America in summer, so than I’ll
be nearly half-finished
I’m confident that it’ll work, someday :)

Although Antarctica can be the last. I don’t care about going there, nor do I care that much about Australia…It shouldn’t even be its own continent. Its basically like Texas but they talk like the British. So lets just say I want to go to Africa, cause I’ve been to the other 4 – NA, SA, EU, AS.

Europe: I’d like to see Ireland, Scotland, England, Italy
Asia: I want to go to Beijing, China and see the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City.
Australia: We want to swim in the Great Barrier reef.
South America: You have to stop in South America to catch your Cruise to Antarctica.
Antarctica: Cruises to Antarctica run out of South America. We probably won’t get to take this one until we’re much older.
