I really wanted to broaden my horizons – people wise – so I decided to set about meeting more people and being more receptive to strangers. The ultimate hurdle, after talking to strangers at bus stops, in lecture halls, etc, was to move out of the house I was sharing with my lovely lovely friends, and move in with 4 strangers. It was never difficult by any means, but I do miss my friends. Looking back, I’m really glad I did it. It’s great to be out on my own for a bit!

A stranger is just a friend I haven’t met yet. (c)

I like talking to strangers. I’m just generally too nervous to be the one to start the conversation.

living in carrboro is the answer to this goal, i think.
one of my really good friends was met on the street, and our relationship took part primarily on the streets of carrboro for a good month before we exchanged phone numbers.

I used to do this all the time. But since I have a girlfriend its not so easy to meet strangers. Not that all the strangers I used to meet were girls (99% were not), but when I was single it was so much easier to be out there meeting people. Doesnt happen so much anymore.
