i painted my dad a painting for his birthday. i painted a colbalt blue background that swirled and a kiwi green tree with bright red hearts sitting in the tree. then i painted the word love with bright red under the tree. the swirls in the background represented life and how at times it can be turbulent. the tree is for our family and the hearts is for everyone in our family under my parents. the word love is how our family tree is rooted in love. we had a party at my house for my son drew and my dad, i did’nt give the painting to my dad right away. i had it placed on the mantle of the fireplace. i wanted to see what he thought of it before he knew it was for him. he loved it. he said he knew it was for him when he first saw it…i love him. when my cousin alexis saw it she said “it’s the hindu tree of life and knowledge!” i had never heard of it, but apparently it’s similar to what i painted. anyway, i had a good day. my husband made chili and we had some cake and yummy icecream, it was pumpkin with chunks of pie crust in it…very tasty indeed. i also got to visit with an old friend of the family i have’nt seen for thirteen years. she lives in mississippi and eighty percent of her town was destroyed by hurricane katrina. wow. that’s insane. eighty percent. but, the town is slowly rebuilding. that’s only the tip of the iceberg. many, many cities have been destroyed. where is our government? why have they chose to spend billions of dollars on a war?! please everyone, watch ‘farenheit 911’ and ‘loose change’. very informative and eye opening. it’s scary to think what kind of people are running this country. i dislike our president very much. he’s a horrible, horrible man. but yes, i had a good day.
