I just got tired of being so messy and I started puting everything away. It’s not easy at first, but it gets to be a habit.

If i could do this (and get my husband to do it), we wouldn’t have to pull an all-nighter to clean the house before every poker game and in-law visit.

I came home last night and noticed the mess that my apartment was in again! I don’t know how it’s happened so I gave myself a good talking to and told myself to straighten up and fly right. Tidied the apartment again and now I’m back on the horse and putting things away straight away again – hopefully I can last longer than a week this time….
My hubby and I are in the process of decluttering our house. He has about 5 years of pack-ratting to go through. We are simplifying.
I think that, as soon as we are done, it will be tons easier to accomplish this goal.

Okay, I’ve been doing this for a week now and it is pretty good. I have a small apartment so I really notice the difference between leaving things out and putting them away. I’m starting to go back to my old ways a little though and it’s still an effort to get myself to put stuff away. To all the brain experts out there : how long does it take for a new behaviour to become natural? (I know it’s more than a week!)

It’s not that I’m lazy, my mind just wanders onto other things – okay so maybe it’s cause I’m a little lazy. My goal is to tidy my apartment tonight and then keep it clean for 1 week without any clutter…. gulp.
if i stuck to this goal i wouldn’t be wasting time going on mass-decluttering campaigns every two weeks :P
i cleaned my house last night, and hopefully it will stay that way!
