Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

FaustusI'm

marking this as done, not because I did anything… in fact it was the other way around. Sab, watching you perfectly managing your life and taking care of your mom has been a source of strength for us. Losing your dad was not easy and it will never be… but I’m sure you will continue to grow as you’ve been doing in the (very hard) past year.

It has been a year, and if she feels it’s time, it’s time. Wish you all the best, Sab. 7 years ago

~@!~small potato~!@~:)

you are such a strong-minded and kind-hearted girl, the best support and love from me is the true BELIEVE that you will definItely go through this difficult time, and only become stronger and more mature…and become to a girl everyone will be so proud of…people come and go, what I learn from this is to love and treasure the people still around you…be with you… better, and to live a better life, take better care of yourself…hope everything is going to a better direction! stay positive!

(hopefully the picture makes you smile..:)) 8 years ago

cathibethMy dear friend...

I know that a small amount of time has passed since you’ve lost your father. It is my hope that after all the pain and heart ache is gone that you’ll be able to remember him with the fondest memories, remember his love, remember his touch, remember his smell, remember his laugh, and quirky faces that father’s tend to make at daughters.

Most of all, I wish for you peace and healing.

With all of my prayers,

Cathie 8 years ago

RuthGYou are facing

one of the hardest, most wrenching things any human being has to face.

May your grieving be surrounded by love.

May you & your mother be strength & gentleness for each other.

May all of your needs be met.

We will be listening. Hugs & blessings. 8 years ago

Princess K is Back Again...again!I'm praying

that everywhere you go during this time, you be aware that you’re not walking alone.

I’m hoping that you’ll be so very aware of how many people you’ve touched, how many are willing to take on whatever parts of your pain that you’ll give them.

I trust that you’ll know how much value there is in every life—yours included.

And I pray that you’ll be comforted by those things.

I’m so sorry to hear. 8 years ago

Celestethatgirlsab, for you

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I
and you are you
Whatever we were to each other,
that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air
of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes
we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me,
pray for me.
Let my name be ever
the household world
that it always was,
Let it be spoken
without effect,
without the trace
of shadow on it.
Life means all
that it ever meant.
It it the same
as it ever was,
there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.

ChuqVery very sorry to hear

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad Sab. That’s so terrible and it must really really suck.

Let us know if there is anything we can do, but you and your family are in my prayers and thoughts. 8 years ago

Ms. Sunflower of the FLIRTY PlainsPsalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. 8 years ago

morning glory"thatgirlsab

Life is nothing but a bubble of water, death is a harsh, cruel realty but every body has to face it one day.Its difficult when your loved one leaves you unexpectedly in the current of high flowing water. Then you realise that suddenly you are shelterless, that is a big challenge, but you have to start all over again with bravery and courage. So collect your strength and face the challenge. 8 years ago

Mrs. BryceBack Again

Time has taken me from you,
although not very far
I’ll be watching through the sunshine
and through the brightest star

I’ll be watching all of you,
from the Heavens up above
So take good care of each other
and carry all my love

If you’re ever wondering if I’m there,
here’s where you can start
Take a look inside yourself,
deep within your heart

I’ll always be your husband,
your Father, your best friend
So anytime you need me,
close your eyes I’m back again
