NixiePixie is a nixie, and a pixie.
Missed signing up for the summer class, bummer. But I mentioned it to my mom and it turns out she can knit and might have some stuff in a closet somewhere to teach me with. :)

How I did it: Knittinghelp.com and youtube has some great videos if you search. Just watch a variety of them and try it out along with the video. Knittinghelp also has a nice glossary with video links in the glossary, very useful site and easy to understand! Good luck! Read how I did it…

How I did it: I used lot's of interesting sources from the internet, by typing in "How to knit". There were lots of very informative websites and videos, and basically I taught myself from them. When I went wrong, I asked my Nan to help! All old people know how to knit :p Read how I did it…
How I did it: It took my 10 year old niece teaching me. She was able to teach me on a very elementary level--which is what I needed. Plus--just knowing that a 10 year old could do it was very motivational for me. Now I love to knit--it is very relaxing and rewarding. Oh....a great book for new and experienced knitters is "The Knitting Answer Book" by Margaret Radcliffe. It answers all of those questions that you don't know… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My room mate in college was an avid knitter. When I saw her working on a baby blanket, I asked her to teach me how to knit. She took me to the craft store and we bought some needles and yarn. Then she was extremely patient in teaching me the knit stitch, over and over. Unfortunately, I picked out yarn that split easily and everytime I didn't know if a stitch was one stitch or two, I knit two. I ended up with … Read how I did it…

How I did it: My friend Shunita has been teaching me. But I have a long way to go to really be proficient. I need to still learn how to read a pattern and how to hold both needles at the same time. For now, I how one between my legs and it works. I'm still on ,my first project which is a scarf. Read how I did it…

I used to stroll around the knitting club in high school but my attention was not so much on the knitting. I was just cleaning out my closet and theres my old knitting needles and a few spools of yarn. At first I thought, hmm, wow. And then it was I owe it to myself to spin something.
A few years ago I can remember absent-mindedly knitting a few disastrously-put-together scarves. I never learnt how to put the wool on the needles, though… I just did the basic purl motion, and then someone helped me finish it and put tassles on the end.
I had the notion that knitting might help me relax and keep my hands busy.

I bought “The Dummies Guide to Knitting” and I was doing pretty well but I stopped. I need to get my stuff from home and work on it. I want to be the crazy lady at the softball games knitting. =)

I’m almost done with the scarf. Meanwhile I’m also practicing garter stitch and k2p2 ribbing…
Found awesome pattern for a cap with ears, really looking forward to having a go at it! :D

I’m knitting now, but only very basic garter stitch. My current project is a very colorful scarf, a practice piece. won’t consider this done until i have completed a more complicated article of clothing that demostrates more skill than just basic competancy.

I’m so glad my friend taught me to crochet years ago and that I went on to learn to knit afterward. It’s a great hobby that allows me to put my creative mind to work. I also have tied it in with my other love, film watching, by doing both at once. It’s excellent to have things you’ve made yourself, too. What an accessible hobby.
I already know how to crochet and sew. I’ve made quilts, crocheted blankets, hooked rugs. I want to learn how to knit so that I may use the material I really love, the designs and patterns that are beautiful, etc…
I actually knitted myself a sweater this past winter!!! I haven’t started doing more difficult things like cables, but I’ve gotten pretty good at the basics. One of my friends has been teaching me to knit. I’m not doing much crafting now that it’s summer, but will likely start back again when the weather turns cooler.

I love crafts of all kinds and am constantly tempted to knit. I used to knit about the age of ten and then just dropped it, time to get back on the wagon in time for winter markets- I’m thinking leg warmers and fingerless gloves will be a good start…
here looks like a good starting place to learn…
