How to get my first tattoo

How I did it: If possible, start by sketching what you want on a piece of paper. Pen in all the lines and add color to it. Cut out the sketch and place it in the spot you want the tattoo, and then I decided whether it looks good and if you really wanted it or not. Once you have really taken the time to think hard about the pros and cons, go online and look for a place to get it done. Ask friends (or people you see who have a cool tattoo), where they got they're tattoos done at and who they're artist was, as this can also prove to be helpful in finding the right place. Once you have chosen the place, visit and take a look at all the artist’s books. This allows you to see the type of work that they do and the style that they are good at. Once you find the artist you think is the best fit for you and will do a good job tattooing what you sketched, give him the drawing and make an appointment. Always call ahead and make an appointment, if the artist is busy he might not be able to squeeze you in, and the amount of time between your visit and appointment will give the artist enough time to re-sketch your drawing and get a good idea of what his approach will be. Try and buy some Lubriderm and antibacterial soap before you get your tattoo, this way you are already fully stocked up for your tattoo after care. Most importantly make sure you really want the tattoo and will not regret it later, and lastly just have a good time with it!!!! Lessons & tips: -Choose the right place Resources: -Friends

I’m going in for my first tattoo on the 17th of June.. I’m so excited and nervous! I don’t even know what colour I want it to be. I hope I told him that I wanted it to be a small-ish size.. Jhe did the outline today… mostly not uncomfortable, with the exception of a couple of spots. Once the first outline’s healed, he’ll retrace the work in preparation for the final stage, filling in the shapes.
Been saving the original mehndi (sp?) artwork for a long time… made some alterations recently and now I think I’ve got it!

Last Saturday I got my tattoo and I LOVE IT!!!!! It took Rosanna 3 hours to finish and it looks fantastic! I thought it was gonna be really painful, but it wasn’t and the fact that I had to sit still for 3 hours was perfect relaxation. Next Saturday my delightful boyfriend is having the same one done. Ooh, how romaaaaaaaaaantic!!!

I’m going to get this tattoo I sketched when I was 17. I wanted to get it on my 18th birthday, but my parents weren’t having it. They said that I wouldn’t want it in five years, and that if I got it now I would regret it. They said that once I move out then its up to me whether or not I want to get a tattoo, but while I’m under their roof…you can imagine the rest….This December (2008) I will be 23 years old, which means it has been 5 years, and I still want the tat. I spoke with them about it two months ago and they reluctantly gave me their blessing this time. They said that they don’t like tattoos, but I am old enough to decide for myself and live with the outcome (good or bad). Looks like I’ll be going under the gun in a little less then 2 months from now. Wish me luck!

Saturday I was in Amsterdam at this great tattooshop “Dermadonna” to show the design for my tattoo. I now have an appointment for the 12th. Wów, this is really gonna happen!!!!!
