GoodReads (http://www.goodreads.com/) is good enough for me; it’s got reviews and book discussions going on in the corners, a fantastic trivia quiz, lovely integration with Facebook, and is really free top-to-bottom. It even has a half-decent interface! I’m calling quits on this goal; I’m no longer as much into web stuff as I was, and man, GR is doing a much better job than I could ever.

I’ve been trying out other book websites, and I’ve got a question – why do all the book websites focus on using the ISBN number? Thus far, it’s kind of irritating for me: I’m trying to find a community of Jose Saramago readers, but instead, I have to pick one particular edition of the same book. Agreed, there might be slight differences, etc., but why can’t I just say, “Hey, I like Lolita!” and then hang out with the other Nabokovphiles in their corner?
I could start off by coming up with a better way of organising books, and make it easier to find new books you might like on Project Gutenberg – something like these guys, but enormously better.
