Graduation will be December of 2011
Can’t wait! My first semester hasn’t been that bad. I’m sure it’s going to get more difficult as we go.
How to finish nursing school

How I did it: Studying, sacrifice, and stubbornness.
Know that it will one day be over.
I had it 'easy'-single, no kids, but I don't drive and I work night shift.
Lessons & tips: Try to stay organized. Make sure you make time for yourself. It's hard to go from a straight A student to an A/B student, but when it comes down to it, you need to give yourself some personal time. How can you take care of others if you're not taking care of yourself? You can't, not in the long run. You'll burn out. It got to the point for me where I'd rather get a B in a class and have a good nights sleep than stay up to study and get an A.
Also, remember that just because you get a B (or C) in a class doesn't mean you don't fully understand the concepts being taught.
Resources: Um...Google is great when your textbooks/teachers just aren't explaining something in a way you can understand. Other people were really big on study groups, but I like to study on my own.

Got my grades today… I only actually ended up getting 2 grades this session because nursing is a 16 week course instead of 8 weeks. I’m kinda torn…. on one hand I got an A in developemental psych. I actually ended up with a 79 out of 75 points for the final which means I only missed one question out of 75 and got all the extra credit right. That’s probably the best I’ve ever done on a final and I was super excited about it…. Then on the other hand I did way worse than I wanted in Microbiology. I got a “C” on the “open book and open note” final… how the hell does that happen??? Brought my whole grade down and I ended up with a “B” in the class over all. I’m so mad… I feel like I should be doing awesome in that class but I’m not. Ughhh…. just frustrated. I want straight As!!!!... I think I might be getting a bit neurotic about this….

Straight As this session! I got an A in anatomy, an A in Speech, and an A in Sociology! :) I’m so exited! And now in 2 weeks I finally get to start my first actual nursing class!

Just got my grades for last session. I got a “B” in Anatomy and an “A’ in advanced composition :) I’m pretty happy :) I think my goal this session is gonna be to get an “A” in anatomy just cuz I’ve only gotten B’s in it so far… it’s a hard class!

Im in a 12 month LVN program that’s over in August, and hoping to get into the bridge RN program which is only 2 more semesters ASAP. Nursing school is hard. I thought that doing LVN here at a jc would be easier, but so far it’s been the opposite! I wish I woulda hopped on the waitlist for RN instead of doing VN first. Oh well.

I got a letter from my school yesterday.....

...and when I saw it all I could think was “oh my god, how much more money do I owe now? How much has the tuition increased?” So I hesitated for a minute to open it. Finally I decided I was going to have to deal with it one way or another so I just opened it and it turns out it was a letter letting me know I made the deans list last semester!!! That means I have a GPA higher than 3.5! I was so exitied! I haven’t made dean’s list or honor roll since I was in 8th grade… That definately made my day :)
