All of my laundry is done. Yes, yes, yes it is!!! And by my laundry I am including my daughter’s. There is one small pile of cleaning rags that I will wash tonight as I further organize all of our clean clothes. I started pulling clothes out of my dresser for giving away or discarding. And separating summer clothes for vacuum packing. I am thrilled. :) But this is only half the battle. Now I must stay on top of it! Ready. Go!

I’m doing a load of laundry right now. It’s been nice to make my bed each morning and put my clothes away each nice, and I feel good getting out a nice clean towel today and throwing my old one in an almost-empty hamper!

Now that I’ve managed to make dish-washing routine, I need to do something about all things cloth. I have a neat little hand-crank laundry machine for small loads, and an ordinary washer for big loads, plus an outdoor clotheslines.
I have extra incentive to do this because my kitten started peeing on dirty laundry. I think it’s because stuff tends to mold in my damp old apartment, and the smell is attractive to little kitties.
To Start:
Daily Maintenance:
- Put folded laundry away immediately
- Make bed every morning unless partner still sleeping when I leave; if that is the case, make bed when I get home.
- Do not keep any laundry under any table anywhere.
- Every night before bed, put all clothes away.
Weekly to more-than-weekly maintenance:
- Do a little wash of whites every few days
- Wash pants as soon as I notice they’re dirty
- Change sheets and towels every week (or every two weeks)
- Do big wash as soon as my hamper is full, instead of after the entire closet is jam-packed. If it is a Saturday and there is no need for a big wash, do a little wash; this way maybe a big wash will not be needed next week either.

My idea is that as I am doing laundry I have two bags, one for donation one for garbage. Once the bag is full it goes into my trunk to be dropped off at Goodwill or into the trash. I am also considering getting rid of extra pillow cases, throws, fitted sheets, flat sheets, etc. that no longer have a “match.” As long as everyone has 2 sets for their bed that is all you need. When one is being washed the other set is on the bed. I am going to donate all my extras to the local dog shelter. They are always in need.

Donna is cookin' up a storm!
I’m marking this done, but I have to be careful not to backslide…it’s easy to shrug the task off. Right now I’m enjoying the results of my discipline so much. Yay!

Donna is cookin' up a storm!
There are two loads of clean dry clothes in the laundry room. Getting more and more wrinkly as each moment passes…gotta go!

Donna is cookin' up a storm!
This morning when I got up, I folded the clothes that were in the dryer. Before doing anything else.
I’m so proud of how I’m training myself.
