Spent a long weekend driving from Pennsylvania to Maine and back with my friend Danielle. Saw some beautiful sights including Acadia National Park and Walden Pond. Best part was getting involved with the whole couchsurfing community. We stayed with hosts in Bar Harbor, ME; Camden, ME; and Somerville, MA. We didn’t really know what to expect, but our hosts were all really cool people. The weekend flew by and now I’m anxious to plan my next CouchSurfing adventure! 4 months ago

How I did it: I was signed up on CouchSurfing for years before I finally took the plunge! Now I have stayed with different people all over Europe. I even took part in some meetups, met lots of people in the places I was staying, foreigners and locals. Everyone is different but always open-minded and friendly... sooooo worth it :) Most will try and take the time to show you around their cities, or at least sit down with you to enjoy a meal. Everyone I met on my travels was unique and fun. Read how I did it… 6 months ago

For our first couch surfing experience we went to the Space Coast (trying to see a shuttle launch) and it was great!
Alain and Kathryn were super gracious and fun to hang-out with.
They’re both easy-going and like to party. So, we got along great! hee
I can’t wait for our next couch surfing experience if it’s anything like this one was.
