.... it’s time to open an Orange CD Ladder

I started doing this some time ago but really haven’t followed through – and it’s so simple to do. The brilliant thing about ING is that a CD can be opened for any amount, any, no minimum. It’s a great way to always have “emergency cash” available as some funds will always be maturing soon.

This is just my shameless plug of the month. :) I recently opened an ING checking and savings account. ING rocks! They pay one of the higher interest rates for both type of accounts with NO minimum balance or monthly fees.

And…..they have a referral program. If you are interested in an ING savings account, I can send you an email that gives you $25 and me $10 when you open an account with an initial deposit of at least $250.

Opening CDs on INGdirect is easy – they can be opened for any amount (even $1) – and are done right on line with transfers from your ING savings account. I’m addicted !

And have already saved more than $1,000…My goal is to save $4,000 by next October. Currently I have $35 taken out of my checking account each week and send extra cash flow to this account as well…WELL WORTH IT!

I’m glad I opened an account – it has a higher rate than traditional brick and mortar banks. There are other banks that offer it too but some have fees. I only wish I was more aggressive saving into this account! The only downside is that it takes a couple of days for money to/from the online account and to your account it’s linked to but for my purposes, it was to save for later so I didn’t want that quick of an access either.

Took about 20 minutes during lunch and now I’m earning a little more on my money. If I like how this works I’ll set up the automatic savings plan.

This goal has been sitting on my List for way too long. I will make a decision on it this week. Hopefully, if I decide to it won’t be too complicated for me to set up.

I forget I have it so I never think about the money in the account. They have good Percentage rates on their Orange Savings accounts too! Check them out!
