Get fit 12 months ago

I’m 35 years old, feel 40 though, male, around 82 kgs, 5 ft 7 inches in height with a 36” waist line. Have Type II diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, eat all the wrong foods, especially love fried foods, sit in front of a computer all day. In short, I feel wasted, but too lazy to make any changes.

Now, here’s what changes things. I meet this 34 year old lady, who’s in great shape. Shes only 54 kgs, and while everything else is perfect between us(Atleast as good as it can get for now), shes insistent that I get into shape. Which is something I understand and agree with, but like I said earlier, I’ve been too lazy to do anything about. Now, shes one tough lady, and is’nt taking my excuses lying down. Shes insistent, and you know how a lady can be when shes insistent.

So, here I am, desperate to change from a couch potato, with a beer belly to a leaner fitter person.

What I’m gonna do:

Join a gym: Its essential to get motivated by making friends who exercise and who encourage me to push myself after all these years of inactivity. Do the cardio routine with some weight training on alternate days.

Diet: Switch completely to boiled foods, and cut all drinks, sweets, ice creams etc… out for now. Need to shock the body into getting rid of all those accumulated fats and toxins.

Beauty regimen: More like a toning regimen actually. Go for weekly massages to tone and firm up a sagging sack like body. Need to also do some regular facials to get the glow. Need to prove that theres a glow and its love.

What I need: Regular encouragement to help sustain my efforts. Seen how easy it is to slip back into my comfort zone. Thats something I cant afford this time round.

Constraints: Have only 2 months to show some noticeable changes, else its curtains. Thats the timeline, and although its cruel, its the only way to get a tough task done. If I’m serious about her, I’ll work my fat off, if not, well, I guess I don’t care enough for her and for myself.

Wish me luck fellas, and theres going to be weekly updates on my weight, my exercise routine, and my diet plans. Help me crack this one to reclaim my life, and this lady! God bless !!!

So this is great. My stomach feels no bloat, I am very active in the elimination area, and I just feel so much cleaner already. The one thing I think doesn’t do me any favours, bloatwise is bread. I love bread, especially Beaconsfield bread, which is THE best bread you will ever find on the planet, even better than stuff from “Trader Joes” in the US. But, having eliminated it for the past couple of days, there is a noticeable difference with how the old gut feels.



Kick Start Diet is up and running ! 2 years ago

I have decided to help myself begin the loss of 20 kilos by doing the kick start diet. This includes a lot of soup, vegetables, fruit, a little beef and yoghourt for one week only. After this I can add a few other carbohydrates back into my diet.

Now call me quirky but having only eaten fruit so far on day one, I feel so much clearer already.

Many say I don’t need to lose so much, I am very tall, but I know this is what I wish to lose, I won’t be horribly skinny if I do, I don’t want that, I just want the body back I know I have under the extra layers.

I have often thought it is a good idea to give a reward when reaching small goals, but there’s really nothing I want so, this doesn’t actually work. The reward for me is to fit into my clothes.
