How to obsessively listen to a song over and over and over
It made me
elated 
"I listened to my favourite song in the world - Lucky by Radiohead - on repeat following some bad news, and it wasn't long before I was smiling again."
How I did it: I had had a bad day. I locked myself away with some hot chocolate, fairy lights and pajamas and proceeded to blast 'Lucky' at maximum volume until I no longer felt like the victim of a dementor attack:

Lessons & tips: Do this when you want to feel something, for example, if you're angry blast 'Wish' by Nine Inch Nails and if you're in a poppy mood listen to Los Campesinos! and so on.

i’m listening to “special needs” by placebo. the funny thing is that it reminds me of somebody that was too fucking special in my life. i just realize that (his importance) a second ago.

O! my poor poor downstairs neighbors !
This is almost a ritual for me, anytime i buy a new CD. Because i’m generally only motivated to buy a CD when i already know and love 2 or 3 songs on it. And upon buying it, i’ll generally play it 10 + times that evening, and every day for the next 2+ weeks. Or More.
My current 2 obsessions are Corinne Baily Rae’s “Like a Star”,,,because it so perfectly expresses the essence of the kind of love i dearly hope to find. I especially love the lines“Still I wonder why it is,
I don’t argue like this,
With anyone but you….”
and “I wont let my guard down
for anyone but you…
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind…”
and of course, being who i am, the star imagery really gets to me…
The 2nd “song obsession” of late is Rufus Wainwright’s ” Go or Go Ahead”, because it captures the perpetual bitterness i feel,,,especially of the acculmulative events of the past year.
Its quite a polarity in songs…but thats true to me: always sitting on the fence between ‘hopeless romantic’ and ‘lapsed into the bitterness…of the failed romantic”
