How to sell a painting

How I did it: One of the things I did this summer was purchase better walls for my booth. It looks great now! and it's much easier to use. I did a solo exhibit at the Ann Arbor Art Fair in Michigan- which is very high traffic. 500,000 people attend. I also exhibited in a museum with my daughter (sculptor), and put more work on my blog. Lessons & tips: Buy the best products you can afford. If you have friends and family that can help- it's wonderful! I sold my first painting at 22, so an entire lifetime of work felt worthwhile. I definitely recommend this one. I have sold many since, but the first sale is very exciting.

I think within the next few minutes i’m going to call this “done.” The reason for this is that the whole reason I made this a goal is so I could put my art “out” but I gave my roommate a painting as a gift when she got married and so I have something “out there.” I know I didn’t sell it, but a gift is just as good, especially since she asked for it before I considered giving it to her. I gave a painting to my mom too, and she loves it. Anyway, so I guess one (or even two) give-aways is as good as selling. I’m calling this done.
