Back in January I applied through both promotions (RBC & iCoke) so I guess now all I can do is wait.
How I did it: In 2000 when the Olympics were in Australia my grandfather was selected to take part in the torch relay and I was lucky enough to help him carry the torch along the 1km stretch of the princess highway. He recieved the torch from my old school principal, and passed it on to another good family friend of ours. It was a great day that brought the whole family together in celebration.

leighh112 im from the future, and everything is going to be alright
I applied to be an Olympic Torch bearer in the Vancouver 2010 winter games today.
ok, i haven’t done this but my ex-mother-in-law did for a bit down here in louisville. she looked cold.
For one mile in the village of Asahimura. It was -1 degree centrigrade and my lungs were almost frozen, but what a rush to have the honor of relaying that flame. Before the 1998 Winter Games ended, I was able to share the experience with hundreds of others by letting them pose with the torch and in my uniform at various schools and community events (see the photo). I later gave the torch to my kids, but I kept the uniform, which is currently on display in a triathalon shop called “Run Bike Swim” in Las Vegas, NV.
I have to say.. I was lucky enough to be chosen to run with the Olympic Torch for the 2002 Salt Lake Games. And my gosh.. it was incredible.
