spend mardi gras in New Orleans

i’m going to do this next year.

this year, however, i’m going to go to jazz fest (i think), which is in late april, early may. apparently it lasts for a looong time. hopefully i’ll have the resources to accomplish this goal!

should i do it this year? i need a sign, a symbol, a message that i should take the weekend/beginning of the week to make this journey.
