I want to learn Japanese

Well, I recently rented this Smart Start Japanese program for my computer. It looks exciting, and easy. However, there’s no sound on anything! It says in the manual that the games have these virtual tiles that when you click on them, a voice will pronounce the word. Be it bread, an umbrella, or a dog, etc., it has the written form of writing and it is supposed to say it. But, nothing! No voice, nada. There’s nothing wrong with my sound system or my speakers. Everything else works fine..

So I wonder… what’s wrong with it??

I want to learn it! For the simple fact that I enjoy Japanese Culture!

I want to learn to converse in basic, simple Japanese within the next 10 years (2018).

I love everything about Japan, the culture, the clothes, anime, manga, you name it. So I’m planning on learning yet another language, because I plan on going there for a few weeks in a year or two!

I want to learn how to speak Japanese because I love Japanese culture and thinking of staying there for 2 months this summer ..anybody got any tips

I do want to learn another language. Even if I have not mastered English yet, I think Japanese would be cool to learn. What I would like to know is if I should learn to read and write it first, or if I should go right into conversational? Has anybody on this site learned how to read, write or speak Japanese?

Kinda of on the back burner but i did look at websites very interesting and i will definitely get an audio cd to learn at some point. so far in my quest of ‘doing’ 2 things i ahve to admit i’m being pretty slack!
