create an altered book

This is one of the best times I’ve had making something… EVER! I am really having a blast with this book. I started two days ago and whenever I have some downtime… I’m spread out on the floor again making another page.
It took me going through the process of making the cover to get over judging and critique-ing everything I put down… and now the pages are just flowing. I’m having such fun with this!

My theme… is ten goals from my 43 things list. The ones that I think will have the most pertinent and positive effect on my life.

Re-did a beautiful but 20-year-out-of-date book on China into a scrapbook of sorts. Daughter T, age 4, is from Hangzhou area. None of the other kids went along so they had to be cut and pasted, etc., into the book. A lovely ex-girlfriend showed me how to disembowel a book in this fashion.

I am the only one who thinks the jokes I wrote in this book are funny.

Took a class last weekend and started altering. If I expand my definition of Altered book to include homemade books with pockets adn stamps, then I already have made several!!

Which I hope to have pix up of soon. The Gifted book is still happening, slowly, but this new project has taken over somehow. that keeps happening. . . .

I’ve finally started working on my first altered book. It’s great to actually be doing something towards achieving one of my goals. I’ve completed one page, and I’m quite happy with it, though I think as a first attempt, this book will probably start out as an experiment on different ideas and techniques. Although who know what it will be like when it’s finished?
