live for now

I am so living in ther ehere and now. I’m not worried abotu tomorrow anymore norr am I worried about the mistakes of my past. It is a great feeling.

As birthdays goes, it was a good one, probably the best. If you give me a moment, I’ll explain why I think Sunday the 25th of June 2006 was one of my best days ever. Life is made up of these moments.

I started my day at 11pm the night before, I had volunteered for a sponsored walk; it was a twenty mile night hike across some of the most beautiful Wiltshire country side. It was a new moon, the sky was clear, the stars were vivid. I watched satellites fly over head and witnessed a shooting star. I completed this walk with two of my oldest best friends, it was great to wish in my 31st birthday with them by my side. I was really special to see in the changing colours of the new dawn together. We completed the walk in five and a half hours, first across the finish line. By this time, I was so tired, I couldn’t speak properly.

After about two hours rest, my family came to pick me up. They drove me home to London. I shared a special packet of Pepe La Sal crisps with them, that I’d bought back from my holiday as a surprise. All four of us then went out for lunch. It was lovely to catch up and spend time together.

So far the day had been special, but my personal highlight was the afternoon, spending time with one lovely person. By this time I was absolutely shattered, she could see that, took me in her arms, let me rest, let me sleep and dream. We held each other close while listening to Come on Feel the Illinoise. That afternoon we spoke of how deeply we feel about each other.

From the moment we first met, I have loved every minute I’m with her. She is a smart, caring, funny, loving, beautiful person, I’m glad I’ve met her, I’m glad she’s my friend.
