I saw Rent today at the Nederlander in NYC. It was unbe-freakin-lievable. Definitely one of the most awesome experiences of my whole life!
How I did it: technically I didn´t see it on Broadway....never made it to New York in time. The show is closed on the White Way, but I did get to see one of the national tour. Beggars can´t be choosers, right?

ballerinadreams "someday my prince will come..." and by prince, i mean.. my dreams.
and it was AMAZING beyond words! Went with my husband and friend Mari (who put me onto this musical). it’s the happiest-saddest musical ever.. and you can’t help but love the characters, or want to be one of them! so worth every penny.
we had awesome seats… 6 rows back. thanks to moi! it’s a shame it’s ending in september. since i’m five minutes from NYC, no harm in watching it again before it all ends… ::sings:: LA VIE BOHEME!!

I asked my mom for tickets to see Rent for my birthday. This is the email that I got in response:
“I talked to Marie and Larry today – they saw Rent on Broadway, and thought it was the worst show they ever saw, but realize it has been a big hit with younger people, which is why it has lasted 10 years on Broadway. Do you know what it is about? Larry said it is very dark and that the characters are all homeless, living in New York, living promiscuous lifestyles, cheating on each other, and they all end up with AIDS! The only familiar song is: Seasons of Love. So, that’s from people who see ALL the shows!”
So… clearly my mom needs to learn to think for herself. But anyway, that’s not the point.
The point is: another intern with whom I work is as big a Rent fan as I am…and she’s from NY – so we’re going at the end of August! Yay!!!!
deenew is changing!
Finally fulfilled this goal! The cast was amazing had a great time!
It was a wonderful experience. New York, Broadway, City Lights. Everything. Small country girl loves the city, it’s true.

I’ve wanted to see Rent since 10 years ago when my sister saw it and brought home the cd. I knew the cd by heart but never could afford to see it. Finally, after a long adventure into New York City, I saw it and it was even better than I could have imagined! It was three times better than the movie version. I cried my eyes out through the last act. I know it sounds like a small dream, but today one of my dreams came true!!!

I am pretty bummed out that it doesn’t look like this will be happening anytime soon. The last show is in September and I doubt I’ll be able to afford tickets :(
I did get the opportunity to see Rent on Broadway. My sister and I went when Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp reprieved their rolls as Roger and Mark, respectively. It was one of the most magical experiences. Their on stage chemistry is unlike any other. They are going to be going on tour with Rent next year, and I hope to see them again.
