move to a smaller house

We went to a very nice Christmas party this weekend at a very beautiful, but very large house. It was the opposite of cozy, even with a large group of people in it it felt very empty. The layout also wasn’t very efficient, and with all that space, it didn’t need to be. It made me at least appreciate my medium house for now, but I still can’t wait to find something smaller.

It will be several months before we can put our current house on the market and move to a smaller house, but we are starting some remodeling projects this week that will help to improve our resale value.

Since the goal is a smaller house, I’m also trying to de-clutter as much as I can, and I’m trying not to buy too many new things (future clutter).

I’m really excited to be moving towards this goal. I can’t wait to have a small, cozy, tidy house.
