currently my website (MYstarZ or Michelle Yeoh Star Zone) is rarely updated. I think part of it is because i’m using plain HTML only, so it makes updating it troublesome. When i want to update it, i must change several different pages at the same time for a simple update. So i want to change it into using content management system. Using PHP and MySQL instead. That way I’ll update it more often

... but the plan is in position and the first and most significant improvements are in place.

The Weekly (cough) Strip is now massively more accessible, there’s an “upcoming” section, and my bio has been made more punchy and precise.
In the end I did not redesign, but adapted the old design to deliver fresh functionality. It’s an unusual approach to web work, but one that satisfies me. It’s hard to make a website look like an old and cosy space, that’s been lived in for a long time, without making bits of it annoying and broken. But I think that this achieves it.
Still got a few bits to go—it needs a banner, a projects list, a shop and some links through an attic area where old content will live. But the base principles are in place, and that’s half the fight really.
It’s been two years since my last update. I haven’t dedicated that much time to the project but am still committed to improving my website. Creating content is still my main goal (as well as my motivation for creating the website in the first place).
I have quickly run out of ideas for my experimental webcomic and was unable to find any worthy new idea for very long. On the one hand, none of my projects seemed good enough. But on the other hand, I needed to publish something to make any progress at all, and be able to eventually produce something satisfactory. I ended up trashing every single idea I came up with. So I have decided to try and write funny blog on that very inability to create called “Tout est Nul” (which means “every thing sucks”).
I have no idea yet where this will take me.
I am currently gathering ideas. My website is based on content and community (99% of websites are, I gess). It has been neglected lately and every one is now gone. So I have 3 main goals.
- The first one is to find inspiration to create new content.
- The second one is to find a way to incite people to do the same.
- And finally, the third one is to find new valuable members for the community.
I think achieving my first goal will help me with the second one. Additionally, I need to revamp the interface and design of my website, which is becoming a bit old. Thus, the site will become more engaging and welcoming.
But for now, I’m concentrating my efforts on the first goal. I started drawing a webcomic.
