Michael has to revise some goals
Went out for four hours yesterday in the more inland waters around St. Augustine, FL. Was a riot of a good time. Had trouble staying in a straight line and I am sure I need to learn better technique, but it was a great time and am thinking about getting one for fishing the lakes in Colorado. Wasn’t as strenuous as I thought it’d be.
it was very hard to keep course at the beginning…but then i got it and i began to get some speed…ant it was a nice feelin…
the only thing i didn’t like was not to think about what would hapen if i the kayak would turn and i would be stuck under water….brrrr..i’m happy it didn’t hapen…
shauny is optimistic
I went to a 90 minute taster lesson so I don’t know if that counts as “learning to kayak”, but still! It was pretty fun but I am hopeless at following verbal directions and translating them into action! Sigh… :)
I don’t even know where to start. I know of a couple places in town that rent them out, but I need someone to teach me… Is it best to take a class, or learn from a friend? There are a couple huge lakes here that I’d love to explore, and the Sound is right here also, I’d love to do some island hopping… I tend to get ahead of myself. Does anyone have advice on where to start with this??

“Are there kayaking classes that people can take, or should I ask a friend to teach me?”
