learn carpentry and woodworking

so i have this wonderful cat, he is the coolest guy in the world. this means i want to spoil him rotten.

in honor of him, and his stripey complexion i am designing a room inspired by him. i want a cat jungle jim to pretty much take up one entire wall from corner to corner. i am sure you have gone into pet stores and seen those carpeted towers designed for cats to amuse themselves on. well i want to take that one step further, and kinda turn it into an interactive art piece with jungle/asain/maybe indian like themes. of course this is going to be something that i can snap together and disassemble (becuz i do live in an apt) but is secure enough to handle a healthy active cat.

this will also motivate me, or provide me a base to do my coocoo clock bird house wall sclupture i have been wanting to do for close to three years now. this might also play an influence on the cat jungle tower project.

a weekend craft project maybe?

well as one can guess that didnt pan out… oh i went and visited but… eh shrugs.

i have it in my head i want to make a cool little coffee table. then there is always my bird house meets coocoo clock wall sculpture that i have been hankering to do for like… ever. havent really had the chance to go hunting, and i lack a proper set of tools.. but i am getting there. first i just need to collect the materials, and well decide what materials are most practical for the table idea. then comes the selecting of the tools

i know i want a power drill. and i know i need a couple of other things, like fine model tools for the broken clocks i am going to collect. then then… well its only a matter of time before i have the time, and scratch to do this. mwhahaha

maybe i should put an add on craigslist for all broken clocks.

ooh. so i have been invited down to my aunt and uncles abode for the holidays to spend time with people i actually give a damn about and haven’t really spent anytime with in ages. yet my reason for accepting this invitation isn’t for strickly sentimental reasons. i am a wretch. my uncle has a huge shop that he builds stuff in and plays around. i think i am going to work up the nerve to ask him to show me the ropes of some stuff.

so maybe i’ll actually have a little something fun to do now, and it would give us an opportunity to spend time together, and uh… bond. so its not completely selfish. i’m just someone that has to have something to do constantly, and it would really save me some hastle on the expense end of things.

do you think it would be too bold of me to actually have drawing and prints with me?
