learn a new word

Nothing for now…

believe it or not, I was just at a workshop and the leader said, “I will give ten bucks to anyone who knows what the word ‘horripulate’ means.” My hand shot up. “It means to have your hair stand on end in fear.” He looked at me goggle-eyed. “I’ve been teaching for years and I’ve NEVER had anyone who knew the meaning before!”

P.S. A man of his word, he handed over a ten.

So learning new words is not only fun, but potentially profitable!

I’ve been reading the Portal of Evil forums more regularly this summer, and it’s enhanced/diminished my vocabulary in remarkable ways. Just a few of the new words I have learned:

beardo
fagmo
queermo
mangina
sped

one who frustrates or ruins a plan or undertaking by meddling

I feel like I do this often =)
