spent 1-1/2 hours on this while Max was doing ABA and Speech. Some good work identifying key attitudes and entrenched thinking that gives rise to disappointments and unrealized goals. There are always more than enough tasks to fill up my days; changing to tackle either the “tough stuff” first or the projects/tasks that will make a significant difference to me is what I’m working on now. Days filled with busy-work feels like being a hamster-in-a wheel. Julia Cameron had a quote I love in the Artist’s Way, something like “people confuse velocity with productivity”.

stopped for Indian food then went to my favorite coffee shop and had a huge cup of tea and worked on “Your Best Year Yet” for an hour. Then went to a Family Constellations workshop I heard about from someone at Dr. Derksen’s clinic. Really helpful insights from the workshop! Good progress on things accomplished, things that didn’t materialize, looking at strategies I used for accomplishing things and what I will change for the disappointments.

It just feels like time to revisit goals. I really enjoy goal-lists like WakeUpLaughing’s; when I read her goals I feel light and fun.

GAinCA I will bend the light pretending that it somehow lingered on.
Today I am making a little more progress.
Step One: I am removing my travel goals. As stated in my previous entry, they are already part of my 43 Places list.
Step Two: I am re-ordering my goals. The ones on which I am actively working will be at the top.
Step Three: I will look at the goals on which I am not actively working and consider taking them off my list. Just off my list, though. Not off my brain. It just feels kind of overwhelming to have such a long list staring at me every time I log in here.

I really need to get some discipline on some of my goals. Things that I had on my list 2 years ago are still unaccomplished, and that is insane.

I’ve been meaning to revise my list here for a while, and I’m finally doing it little by little. Tonight I removed three goals: two were completed and I gave up on one.
Other things to consider/do in completing the revamping of my goals:
-decide which ones should stay
-remove my New York and England goals if there ends up being no room for them, since they are already included in my 43Places list
-remove the goals that may not get done until later in my life, since I don’t have the resources to complete them right now (I will, however, keep them on my “life goals” list so as not to forget about them)
-add new goals that are likely to be completed relatively soon
-add new goals that can be “works in progress” much like the “feel beautiful every day” goal.

I need to revamp my goals. I have some VERY long term goals on here that should probably go on a different list. I also have several that really don’t mean a lot to me anymore.
I want to revamp my goals to include goals that really make me a better person, stretch my capabilites and help me to achieve everything I want to achieve.
I’m going to start on this goal this week!
