Looking at my last entry, it’s been a while since I’ve done this. I did my basic routine tonight for the first time in a very long while. It felt good. My husband and I are both trying to get in better shape (we’re getting newlywed-soft), and I’m going to try and do Pilates at least 4 days a week. I’d like to work up to doing it every day. I need to pull out my free weights, too, and tone up my arms. I’m not overweight at all, but I want to tone and tighten.

I did just a little today... 21 months ago

at the request of my fiance, who wanted to watch. It felt good to stretch and move, and it gave me energy. This might just be the motivation I need to start working out more regularly (and the fact that it showed me how much muscle tone and flexibility I’ve lost).

Well…I’m not sure this goal will ever be accomplished the way I want it to. My sister and I just bought a dance studio. So in addition to working my full-time 40 hours/week job, I now own something. I think I’m going to have to consider dancing everyday a good substitute for now. It’s hard to squeeze in any extra exercise when I work 75 hours a week…

It's not everyday, but... 2 years ago

I am now an aqua pilates instructor, so I’ll be teaching one class a week. Exercise that I get paid for, it couldn’t get any better. Not to mention I love it! Not quite everyday, but its better than I was doing, that’s for sure.

I exercised twice this week! That is a victory so far. I’m not up to everyday yet, but hopefully i’ll get there soon.

I used to, and I loved the way it made me feel. It gave me energy, boosted my libido [not that it needs a lot of help ;)], gave me an awareness of my muscles that helped my posture, and increased my flexibility. There are so many reasons to start again, but I just haven’t. Maybe I’ll make this a personal challenge or something. I think my body looks good, but I want to be in better shape so I can have more energy and flexibility. I tend to have very short, tight muscles.

I feel like a lazy pig, especially since my boyfriend has become so dedicated to getting fit. He wants to look his best for our wedding. And it’s really paying off.

Well I’m into my first week of school and I have not done this even once. Not that I’m making excuses but part of the reason is that I have been sick the entire time and needing to sleep more rather than get up earlier to do this. Perhaps I should try doing it at a different time during the day, but I like the idea of doing it first thing in the morning to prepare me for my day. I’ll consider this goal a sucess when I have done this for a whole month.

Classes start up again next Tuesday which means returning to a regular schedule, so I wrote out a whole day by day schedule for myself including scheduled pilates every morning. A good first step I think, now we’ll just have to see if I make it out of bed that early in the morning.
