It's [beyond] time! 15 months ago

My two remaining kiddos are leaving for college in another week and I’m making plans!! Woohoo for us all!!

Having a natural affinity for books and having homeschooled since 1993, shelves and books are the main furnishings of my home. LOL!

But now that the books will get less use, it’s time to organize – sort, whittle, resort, reshelf.

Googling for help in this endeavor, I stumbled onto LibraryThing.com. In a matter of a few hours I accomplished what had taken me days in a prior attempt to list the library. The feature I like the best of LibraryThing is that you can download your imput as a CSV file that opens in MSWord and gives a complete written record of the library that can be manipulated to meet your needs.

Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and am positive I will “git ‘er done”.

It’s mostly there, but I’ll be moving this year and I’ll have to rethink how it’s arranged based on space.

I currently have everything I bought before January cataloged here: http://www.librarything.com/catalog/cresida

So, this managethings.com site was made for people who have a closet instinct to organize things. Also, when I used to waste time that I should have spent working, I don’t hate myself or roll into a near catatonic state playing around on facebook. Kinda nice to actually accomplish something. I’ve got most of my books in there already, and my music collection, believe it or not. Go me.
