I’ve visited Canada once when I was little but don’t remember it very much. I’d like to go and take a small trip to see what it’s like. Though I might want to learn a little French before I go.

How I did it: Planned a trip with a friend who enjoys activities like I do (outdoorsy stuff) and decided to go to Vancouver. It was gorgeous. Tons of little shops and restaurants (check out Yaletown) and art galleries/museums in the city, and just a $20 cab ride away are the Capilano Suspension Bridge and "tree adventures" (which is a series of bridges suspended between platforms on trees), there is also hiking trails there; in the same area is Grous… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It isn't any harder than visiting a family member who lives 8 hours away. You just have to plan a few days and make the drive. Look online for cheap hotels and go for it. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I drove from New York City, up the Hudson, through Connecticut, Massachusetts,Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, into Quebec. I loved Quebec and the St. Lawrence River. I had a chance to use my French and listen to Quebecquois, which is not exactly the same thing. Vieux Quebec is lovely, with a flavour all its own, and very beautiful people everywhere. Later, driving into Montreal at night, the bridge was so high above the river I almost f… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Well it was really funny, it was through a company that hired me, its a factory about airplaines, and they has a proyect about a new aerocraft so needed many people to this proyect, (and still) so i let my resume at their office and 1 week after this they call me and askme for details about me and thinks like that, and toldme "ok we'll call you tomorrow" and that make feel nervious and happry at the same time!!! 24 hrs after they cal… Read how I did it…

I’ve always loved Canada and my fiance and I really want to live there eventually; however, I’ve never been there! I should get on that.

It seems like a really cool place. I want to visit Niagara Falls, Montreal, and Quebec City just to name a few. It also seems like a good place to practice French once I learn it.
I got my passport a couple weeks ago. It only took 3 weeks from the day I applied to the day I got it so yay!
I have 139 days left until my trip!
I will most likely be doing this sometime within the next year. My best friend also wants to do this, and is talking about making the trip while her husband is deployed.
TheBron is not so motivated anymore. More stinky
With my future-husband, part by train, visiting the snow, and touring around
I went. It was both what I thought it would be and not what I thought it would be.

I already applied for my passport and bought my plane tickets. I am going up to Saskatchewan to visit a friend at the end of the year. This will be my first trip out of the US. I’m very excited about visiting my friend and about visiting another country.

had considered flying to Vancouver in a couple of weeks. The price for flight and hotel combo were good. But I have too many extra medical expenses right now, so we are just going away for the weekend soon. (He has more disposable income than I do, but I would not feel comfortable with him paying my end of things. He does enough already.) Even staying in fairly luxurious hotel rooms nearby for two nights comes out to be less expensive than the trip to Vancouver.

I saw something on Yahoo today about finances. It said you should be putting 10% of your income into a 401k. It gave the example, “For example, if you put 10% of your $100,000 yearly salary into a 401k, in x number of years you would have $y.” They threw out that $100,000 figure as if it were what the average bird or bloke makes in a year.
Am I missing something?
