I dyed the ends of my hair the color of a cadbury’s wrapper, and about 6 months ago, I put purplish red streaks in my hair, and I love them.

How I did it: I naturally have blonde hair, so this didn't take me a lot. Only some Beyond the Zone semi-permanent hair dye that was less than 5 bucks at my local Sally's Beauty Supply. I don't remember what sparked my need for crazy hair, but I'm really glad it happened. Warning though, you'll want a friend that's done this before to help you if you haven't before, because it's super easy, but even easier when they do it all for you ;) First off, I sa… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I always wanted to dye my hair some crazy color. The other day we decided to do a summer road trip with friends and to have a crazy hairdo for it. I went for some light innocent red stripe and really liked it. After returning back home it took a month or two to decide for a fresh dye again, but then I started to have it done on regular basis. However, my favorite color, and our corporate color as well, is orange :) So when I found the righ… Read how I did it…

I’ve been wanting to dye my hair different colors since high school, but there was always something keeping me from doing it. First it was because my parents would get mad, then it was against the dress code at my job. Now I don’t live with my parents anymore and I’m not working so I can do whatever I want with my hair. So now what’s stopping me? I can’t pick a color, I feel like I’m getting too old for crazy hair colors, and I don’t want to look like a poseur (or be “that weird chick with the funny-colored hair”). I think I’d be satisfied if I just got a single streak of color, just so I can know I’ve done it.

I always wanted to do this! I’m not the type to even dye my hair, but the reactions is what I’m looking for ;D
I want colours in my hair!
It would take the attention away from my face,
but it would look amazingly cool aswell.
I can’t though, until I go to Sixth form,
because my schools a bitch.
I love dyeing my hair, which I know that it is bad for it, but I just cant get enough of it. Ha, I’ve had my hair about 5 different colors before, but now I want to have some like bright ass colors in it. But I dont know where to go to get the colors I want.
Get your hair bleached professionally the first time. The colorist will know what volume of bleach is best for your hair type. Don’t assume that since 40 volume is strongest that its the best. Use toner if your hair is still yellow, the majority of crazy colors won’t look good with a yellow tone underneath.
Manic Panic dyes rinse out obnoxiously fast, so does Raw Color. I’ve had great luck with Special Effects.
The best conditioner I’ve found so far is by SamyPure. It’s vegan and almost all natural, but don’t believe that last claim since a couple of ingredients seem far from it.
Remember… Spending $100 at a salon will yield better results than if you try to do it by yourself the first few times. If you’re scared or worried – let a pro do it! Watch what the colorist does and try it yourself the next time.

from my experiences, here are some things to help! ;)
1. don’t use color stripper for bleach substitute.
2. don’t use manic panic unless you’ve got lots and lots of time
3. splat in the fasted working, longest lasting, and really over all most effeciant for crazy hair colors (it only comes in purple, red, blue, and pink though)
4. be sure to have hair color conditioner. Like, one that will make the color stay vibrant.
5. to have it last longer, don’t shampoo it everytime you wash it, just condition.

I’ve dyed my hair pink about 3 times, fire hydrant red, and violet. I have to admit I looked pretty awesome!! Especially, in violet because the color looks purple in light but blue in shade! Its awesome!
I want to do it purple. Depends on the job I get and when I have enough money and time to get it properly done.
I have slightly darker skin than most, with warm tones, and yellow undertones (I’m asian; I have trouble finding foundations because I’m so yellow, everything looks pink on me!)
I don’t know what color to dye my hair. I found a mixed race woman who looked GORGEOUS in a greenish-blue/turquoise haircolor that I thought might work for me, and my friend when looking on a manic panic haircolor sampler said indigo (I think After Midnight Blue) would suit me.
Any suggestions?
My skin color is generally around the sample picture above, between these two colors considering winter and summer months

decafmochawithskim asks,
“I recently dyed my hair purple, looking for a neon shade of purple. I have medium/dark brown hair, and I bleached it beforehand..but it came out a darker purpleish color. Any suggestions on what's the best bleach and dye to get that neon shade?”
