SCARRYY!!! $24,650…TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND – SIX HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS FOR 1 year of Nursing school!! It is freaking alot of money but its really hard to get into the community colleges around my area and i would probably have to wait a couple years before i qualify to get in so i’m going the direct route and paying. My parent, who i am thankful for everyday are helping me pay this amount of $994.44 a month for 30 months…Till i finish school and can pay it off myself. WOw, i’m sooo scared about this all and praying REALLY hard that i will be able to do this…Wish me luck!! I need all the luck i can get.
How to pay for college
How I did it:
it's hard to save money every single time you get it- the last thing you want to do with christmas money is put it all into the bank!
for me, it was all about saving and cutting back. i'm hoping to transfer next year or the year after to a pricey music school, so i'm not avoiding debt forever- but for now, having the payments out of my way is amazing.
Lessons & tips: even if you'd rather go to some amazing (but expensive) school, consider a community college if only for a year. if you want to get away from home, go to a community college somewhere else! i picked a school three hours away, and it's honestly a decision i couldn't be more happy with.
as far as saving money goes, just cut back. it's SO much easier said than done, even if you're cheap in the first place like me.
also, paying anything in full is almost always a better way to go because most college payment plans have extra fees you can avoid if you just pay it all up front.

Clarissa trouble
I’m so upset I had to pay $5,300 but I have no credit and my mother doesn’t have good credit because of a previous loan with my step dad who wasn’t paying his bill. I can’t go in the fall so now I have to wait till spring :( I’ve been waiting forever now I have to wait some more.
*edit- huge miracle my aunt paid for everything!
Well, it is my first year, and my need to have all my ducks in a row is causing me great stress.
Books will be over $600 and they wont let me have my financial aid until a month after I need it…. ugh.
Of course, there is always a way. Thank god for a supportive boyfriend. Racking up my tab with him—
If only i could have been a trust fund baby.
Oh well…
So far, $3500 in school loans for the first 2 semesters, and I have a full 8 years to go… with much much much more money to borrow.
I can’t seem to pay for college. I go to a Private University, and it’s a bit expensive. I have a few scholarships and grants to help me out, but it’s not seeming to help. My dad pays for my college, and it’s taking a toll on him financially! I love my dad so much, and I hate making him give up so much money to send me to college. We never really had a lot of money to begin with, but now, it’s getting crazy.
We’ve applied for 4 different loans. 3 rejected us, and the other one hasn’t even responded and that was over a month ago. I’m so confused and lost. I really NEED money for school, and even me working doesn’t help. My dad told me not to worry about it, because he’s going to do everything in his power so I can get exactly what I need. But I am worried, because what if he can’t get me what I need. I don’t want to tear our family apart with my financial inflictions!
I wish I knew what to do, but I’m going to keep trying until I succeed, otherwise my dreams will drown!
I just had to leave Catholic University in Washington DC. I couldn’t afford the $100,000+ price tag. Jeezus. I miss my school so much – but that’s just ridiculous…
5 days before graduation I still owed 2,000 to the school, and, of course, you can not graduate until you’re paid up. No money to speak of my boyfriend got a cash advance from his credit card to pay it off. It was such an emotional burden to dump off that I was shaking in the business office (they were expecting me [small school]) and had tears in my eyes as I walked out the door. I’m so glad it’s done.
it’s senior year, and I spent all of this semester afraid that I would have to drop out of school one semester short of graduating. You see I didn’t have enough money to pay for this semester, and you can’t register for next semester without paying for the current one first. I pulled it all together today the day before registration. I just have to pay for next semester. Then I will have finally made it without asking my parents for money the whole four years.
I have no idea… I filled out a loan that would pay for a couple thousand dollars… but I don’t know about the rest. I hope my parents figured something out.
i’ve been admitted to Ohio State but i don’t even know if i’ll be able to pay for it. my family got a high efc on that damn fafsa so i’m not getting any need-based money even though i really really need it. i always thought that if i got good grades and a high act score i would have no problem paying for college… i guess i was naive. I feel like everything i did in high school was a waste because i’m not getting any money. If i can’t come up with the money for college i’ll just have to fall on my backup plan of being a beach bum.
