I used to run in a group at an athletics association but stopped because of a leg enjury, which sadly came back 3 times..
After my recovery I did a few attempts to start running on my own, with the support of my dad (a marathon runner) and my boyfriend (runner for fun). But it’s just so hard, because when you’re not in a group you have to count on yourself. Push yourself to walk. And starting is not easy, I tried a couple of times and it’s hard to keep up.
The longest distance I’ve ran is 18 km, so I KNOW I can do this! Sadly, I can not join the association untill April. So I’ve set up a training schedule, for 3 trainings a week. I’ve even set dates and timeframes, so there is no excuse!
I’m starting next tuesday September 2nd, and my dad is running with me to cheer me on. Wish me good luck!

I would first like to try and run a couple 10km events before I aim to run a marathon

I ran to day, just to clear my head. I didn’t run fast, but for an hour. I actually enjoyed it :) That seldom happens.

Time. Haven’t got much left. After this week I’ve been working for 13 days straight. I the meantime I am at the driving school or trying to stay in touch with my friends. To my defence I am actually sporting at least 3 (often 4) times a week on an ambitions level.
I just haven’t had the strength or time to just run. I am afraid I will break apart completely then, both physically and psychologically.
I guess I will have to make an effort for this goal next summer. I will still try to keep it up when I’ve got time during the fall. But, since we have so tough winters here up north running outside isn’t tempting or especially rewarding. I’m not willing to spend my money on the gym either.
However, I am sporting regularly so I wont loose it completely. Just putting it on hold for a while.

Sick again! I cant believe it, or actually I can. Physical l+ mental stress = illness. However, my cold is about to pass now. I’ll have to push my goal forward trying to run 10 km before winter arrives…

5 km, time: ?
I ran with my father today. You can say he’s a former sports-addict. He was really impressed with my progress and I believe he had some trouble keeping up with my tempo in the beginning. However, I can definitely feel the difference now. I just have to keep it up!

Woho! What a rush!
Today I started at square one again, since I’ve been sick for two weeks. I wanted to be completely healthy before I started again. I thought I would do terrible, but in my face i I didn’t!
5km, time: 35.58
This is my best time yet! And did I mention that it was HOT outside, in the middle of the day.
But how can I have improved? Mainly I think it’s because of my own will – I decided to do my absolute best and yet I felt like I had energy left in the end. But I also believe it’s because I’ve been riding my bike to work, and the way home is practically 5km uphill. It has done wonders with my thighs, I didn’t feel nearly as much as I use to while I ran today.
I have to keep it up now if I will be able to run 10km in the end of august. Time to pick my stubborn side out again!

Won't give up!
As always, when I set my mind on physical goals, something comes up. This time a cold along with coughing for two weeks. These things often ruins everything. But it won’t this time!
If I feel well for the next two days I’m back!

The usual round (5km). Time: 38:00
I was about 30 seconds faster last time. But it might have to do with the fact that it was so extremely hot today! Not a cloud in the sky. Felt like I sweated out half my weight!
Must say that music really helps, especially when in some magical way that song (With every heartbeat – Robyn) always begins at that painful hill. I think of my x run up on top of it as fast as I can. Wow, it is such a feeling!
Just have to keep it up now!
