First off I have to learn how to drive period. When I do, then learn to drive a stick shift..heard they’re a blast. :D
How to learn to drive a stick
How I did it: A friend, Tom, has a car with a manual transmission and was kind enough to show me how to do it. We met once a week for a few weeks and I may still be a little shaky but I did it!
Lessons & tips: Start out in a parking lot. Don't be afraid of stalling the car. "When in doubt, push the clutch."
Resources: Knowledge shared by a friend.

This seems like something everyone who drives should know how to do! Can’t believe I haven’t learned this yet. Will-do.
My boyfriend is trying to teach me how to drive his manual (convertible!) but I get so easily flustered I end up getting mad and giving up. I’d like to really set an intention to be calm and patient with myself.

caught R cheating and he moved out within a week to be with his new girlfriend. I got left with the car he bought – in my name because his license was suspended – a car I couldn’t drive. He’d given me 2 lessons before the big crisis and his departure. So, I mustered all the courage I could and started driving at night, when no one else was on the road, in case I would stall out in an intersection or anything (which happened a few times). The only way to do this is just to bite the bullet and start doing it. Get in the car and drive. You’ll learn, and you know what? I feel like it was one of my biggest achievements last year! I felt so empowered, teaching myself to drive and then driving around in this super sexy car. Plus, driving a stick shift, once you learn to do it, is a lot more fun than driving an automatic. You feel so engaged with the car and the road, accelerating is thrilling, driving fast is thrilling. It’s totally worth learning – especially I think for women, because it seems like a really kick ass thing to be able to drive a stick, and women should all be able to do a few kick ass things.
Just a skill I would like to have. Plus, people who can drive a stick always look cooler in their cars! haha
I have driven a stick before, I just want to be really good at it. My only problem, my dad just sold the only car we had that was a stick so now it is hard to practice!
