The Great Barrier reef is awesome, but diving off the Navy Pier in Exmouth is even better. We missed the whale shark season so that’s on my list, but it’s incredible down there.
How to scuba dive in Australia
How I did it: Me and a friend were backpacking Australia and one day we saw some brochures on scubadiving and we both looked at each other and said: Yes! We should do that.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />And we did. We called the company arranging it and we got a great deal combinding the scubadiving with a trip to whitehaven beach and a lookoutpoint nearby. So we get out to the beach. And this beach.. the sand was literary white, it was smooth as powder, palmtrees one way and crystal clear turqoise blue water the other. So we chill out there for a while then its off to the reef. It was about an hour trip, but there was a buffet with watermelons and tropical fruits and some sandwiches. And at this stage you feel pretty good JWe get in to groups and we get on the gear and they start with the instructions. Nothing hard, just safety precautions, signs, hazards and so on. We jump in, dive under and it starts. It can be pretty uncomfortable to deal with the ear pressure at first, but u get used to it. So we dive down and the instructor writes on a whiteboard be brought: ”you’re scubadiving in the whitsundays! How cool are you J” We are down about 13 meters down and there are fish everywhere, in all diferent colors and all different sizes. They let know wich corals we could touch and what we couldn’t. The colors, the smooth movements, the relaxation, the freedom and the weightlessness. The fish swam so close i couldnt believe it. After about 20 minutes we had to go up and it was over.To tell you the truth. It was pretty much exactly what i imagined it to be, wich is kind of rare.It was a really cool experience and i recommend it to anyone.
Lessons & tips: Make sure you travel a lot. its fun and you get to do so many experiences easily.
People doing this are also doing these things:

if everyone thought this way there
would be a million people on the beach
and it would lose most of its appeal.
