be more attentive

My husband loves to talk! I try my best to take an interest in his love for history and facts but after 5 minutes of him talking I can’t hear him. I see his mouth moving and an underwater volume of his voice but I cannot comprehend what he is saying! I dropped out of college for this very reason because I couldn’t pay attention to the professors. I am planning on going back to school in the fall to provide a secure future my family and I want to be more attentive to my husband so he will know I care about what he has to say…I guess I just have to do it.

I sometimes find myself drifting off when people are talking to me, which can cause a few problems. I then have to work really hard to make them think that I have been listening all along whilst I desperately wish that I had!
