japes How long have you had a weak back? Oh, about a week back.
I did this a bunch of times. Maybe 20, 30, who knows. The best part was trying to ‘escape’ and get so far ahead in traffic that the person for whom I paid had zero chance of catching up to see who it was.

I used to cross a toll bridge frequently, and I’d often pay for the next car or two behind me.

In wales there’s a small town named Porthmadog (we called it Port Mad Dog) where there is a long toll cause way. The toll on it is 5 pence. So when I pulled up to pay my toll I handed the attendant a pound coin and said that I was paying for the next 19 cars also. He wasn’t sure that that would be OK as he had never had anyone do it before. We convinced him that it is an American custom to pay each other tolls, so he took our pound and started waving cars through.
Well apparently some Welsh don’t take kindly to having other people pay there tolls for them. We stopped a ways down the road at a pub in Maentwrog and had two people stop and demand that we take their 5 pence as they were not about to collect charity from anyone. Best part was as these two are going on about how they can afford their own tolls, cars are rolling by honking, smiling and waving!!!!
I’ve done many time since and always get a good grin from it.

I paid for the car behind me tonight, and i sped off with a big massive grin on my face. It made me happy, and I am sure it made the driver of the car very happy, so without a doubt this is worth doing. Hopefully the recipient of my good deed will do something nice to put a smile on the face of another stranger :)

The biggest problem here is remembering not to go through the EZ Pass lane. I’ve never gone through a real toll booth before….
