How to spend one month without a car
How I did it: To spend one month without a car, I lived in a city that didn't require one. I stayed in London for a month during a study abroad trip. London has a massive underground "Tube" system that easily provides transportation nearly anywhere you need to go. One of the best things about this city is that one can go anywhere with a short tube ride and a few minutes walk. It was amazing!
Lessons & tips: Try to stay in an area with excellent public transportation, or with safe walking routes.

This happened by default when I went to college. But it was good. I mean, I miss driving a lot, but it’s much healthier to walk everywhere, and better for the environment to have one less driver on the road. So overall positive impacts.

that not only have I gone 5 months without driving or owning a car, I’ve gone over a month without being in one, not even a cab or a bus. This subway is pretty damn useful!
Spent an entire 2 semesters at MSU without my car. It kinda forces you to be creative sometimes. I rode the bus a lot, my bike, walked, bummed rides from co-workers. With the price of gas what it is now, I tell you I wouldn’t mind not having a car right now.
