How to finish reading the Bible
It made me
deeply satisfied.

How I did it: I tried to do daily readings with the "Today's Light Bible," a specialized study Bible, but working on it every day that way, and in such small chunks, didn't work well for me. I had trouble concentrating on the written word for a while due to psychological issues (depression and anxiety, which are now mostly in remission but were very severe for a long time) so I started listening to a recorded version instead and that helped a lot. Nevertheless I needed the study Bible. There were times when I couldn't easily understand or apply what I was reading and that study Bible really helped. Lessons & tips: Let your pace fluctuate - there will likely be days where you can listen or read for hours and only want more, and others where reading one chapter seems almost impossible. Just don't give up and keep seeking the wisdom and love of God. Resources: Today's Light Bible from Concordia Publishing House

How I did it: I started with reading 3 chapters a day, eventually, I turned to five. Then, halfway though the Old Testament, I skipped to the new Testament, from then on, I fell in love with reading the Bible. I went back to the pages I skipped and finished the whole Bible. Read how I did it…
I finished the New Testament and am about 1/2 way through the Old Testament, stuck in Job.
10/4/09: Finished Job and started Psalms. I’m thinking I’ll read a few Psalms and skip to Proverbs. I’ll read a few Psalms each day.
11/5/09: Reading a few Psalms and a few chapters of the Proverbs regularly. Making progress!
11/11/09: Another 50 Psalms. Finished Proverbs. And Ecclesiastes. And Song of Solomon.

I don’t like reading Revelations. It makes me jumpy. I think I need to talk to my pastor about that.
