I’m usually intuitive on most computer things, but this one’s got me…

I still haven’t got it completely figured out (templates and all), but it’s installed allright. And I like it!
Definetly worth doing if you want a blog you can really control.

Well, I got the basics installed (with a lot of help from my brother) Now I’ve got to figure out how to change the design. I would like to have my very own template, but I don’t think I’ll be able to make it totally from scratch, so maybe I can use/copy one of the default themes and build from there.
    We’ll see…

With a little help from my brother I think I’ll be able to pull this off. The biggest problem will probably be installing mySQL and PHP on a Windows 2003 server (since I’m my own hosting provider:)

The “5 minute quick install” really does work (it helped that we had an already well-established MySQL install on the web server…)

It’s definitely a simple process to install and start using, but I personally became aggravated because I found it difficult to customize to my particular liking. I think I need to teach myself a great deal more about stylesheets before I can really start using it effectively. (I still want to design everything in tables!)

WordPress is a super easy install. I migrated over from MT 2.64 and tried it out on my testing server to see if I could get similar plugins that I used in MT. I like the ease of WordPress and am working on a new site design for it now.

    Good Luck!

    WordPress Rules 4 years ago

Installation was very easy using some tools that are available at many web hosts/ISPs. Look for those hosts who offer a configuration utility called cPanel, and then follow these outstanding instructions: http://codex.wordpress.org/cPanel_X. It literally took me 5 minutes to get up and running.

    Good luck!
