    Influential me 2 years ago

I think that I am going to be moving this over to my DONE list. I have been going through some things recently that made me realize that being influential does not have to be synonymous with being that classic strong-willed, take charge kind of person who is always at the front of or in charge of most everthing. I think we just NOTICE that type of person as being influential more often than the quiet, behind the scenes, influence people by doing-rather-than-saying type person. So it all came about through one of my other goals (tell people what I really think) which I just recently accomplished. In doing that I set into motion the “butterfly effect” which got other people thinking and also taking action. Coincidentally (or not) that very afternoon my children and I found this huge caterpillar at the park right before I almost stepped on it. I recognized the markings to be that of a tiger butterfly. So we brought it home (kids named him/her butterfinger) and pretty quickly after we put it in the cage, it glommed onto a branch and didn’t budge for two days. The kids were worried it was sick and it’s color was fading so I thought it was dying also but figured it was probably either going to get squished or eaten at the park anyhow. Well what do you know, this morning our fat little caterpillar is a full blown cacoon! How awesome is that? The very same day that I decided to become a better version of me (and physically stressed over it) a caterpillar practically crawls up my leg to let me know it’s going through the exact same thing. Change can be tough work but look how rewarding it can be in the end. I was scared to make waves but I got through it and helped at least four people, and probably a lot more out! I feel like that caterpillar was just a sign to let me know the answer to the question I frequently ask myself, “Am I on the right path?” Well it seems pretty clear to me right now. Yes, I know I am.
