Wow! A year has gone since I first came to 43 Things. My first-year anniversary might not be really so, since I have not been as active these past three months as I was the first nine. Funny, I’ve been distracted doing activities suggested by fellow 43ers, but I have failed to post them here. Yet, today I had to come back and make a statement about this date.
Many Things have passed in this last year; many Things have been accomplished; many Things resist to be so. And 43 Things has been witness of them. May this coming second year bring many more things, and places, and people, and lists…

It was actually a few hours later in the day. I was getting ready to go out to celebrate New Year’s and I had a few hours before I had to leave to go out. I realized I hadn’t made any resolutions and that it would be a good idea to do so, as I was desperate for change in my life.
I started searching the internet for nothing in particular, just some inspiration. I did New Year’s and New Year’s resolutions searches on Google and found this site. I thought it was a great idea for listing and tracking my resolutions instead of putting them on a piece of paper that I might put aside or even worse, might be found.
As I made my list, I realized it wasn’t just a list of New Year’s resolutions. It became not just a list of both short-term and long-term goals, but a place to sort out my thoughts and identify my priorities.
My very first goal, “be an artist” was responded to immediately and for a long time after. I was shocked and highly appreciative by the amount of positive feedback and support for this goal which I very rarely receive in face-to-face, daily encounters.
I’ve learned a lot from my fellow 43Ters through responses to most of my goal posts and also by reading other 43Ters posts.
I’ve interacted with subscribers and non-subscribers with common goals and interests and I must say it’s been very positive and encouraging for me.
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now. Good luck to everyone in the New Year. A happy and healthy one to all!

Actually, I really didn’t do this, but it’s not like I can go back and celebrate it retroactively now, can I?
Anyway, it’s been a year, and during this time I became a father and I found a new job. Hell, I did both of those during my first MONTH here.
But, I’ve enjoyed the ride thus far, and I’ve done a lot of stuff, and I still have more to go!

I wrote my very first entry here exactly a year ago. How time flies…
This place has been a great experience for me. I’ve found a way to keep track and remind myself of the small and big things I want to do. I’ve found kindred souls, who have been extremely supportive. I also think it has been kind of therapeutic really, to make regular entries here. Nice to see what one has accomplished, what tends to get forgotten usually.
Soooo… thanks to all of you :) I’m looking forward to the next year !

Tomorrow it will be one year since I accidentally tripped over this site, landed in a pile of anti-procrastination and made my life sweeter. Neater. Complete-er…
My first entry: There’s a metaphor in my sink… Feb 25, 2006
“How 43 Things has changed my life”
I’ll think about this further later. Right now I must… go do something.

Tristan
is feeling the change and cheering for the new day!
A year ago I accidentally stumbled onto this site while searching for something completely different. I saw the “I want to…” box and I whimsically typed in something and suddenly I had a goal. I’ve been hooked ever since that moment. Every time I tell someone about this site I rave about the positivity that joyfully swims through our unified goals, our aim to make our lives better, and the incredible people.
There are people here that have become my friends. They inspire me, they tell stories that make me feel as if they have a secret line to my heart. I’m consistently amazed by the outpouring of support here. 43T is a place where I can share all my private thoughts and feelings with the world, and receive warmth and encouragement in return. For this, I’m resoundingly grateful.
This site’s also taught me the power of goal setting; being clear about where I want to go is the most important step to getting there. I’ve achieved goals that I thought were out of reach. Becoming more present, being a freelance writer, and radiating joy have all come into my life, but were only dreams a year ago.
A sparkling champagne toast to 43T and everyone in it. Cheers!

was my one-year 43Anniversary date!
While I started using 43Things with “only” the intention of setting & (I hoped) meeting some personal goals, I’ve ended up getting a great deal more than that from my participation here.
I am very glad that I found this place, which has become such an important part of my life. 43T has given me a chance to make friends & to support people (& to be supported in turn!).
Cheers to all of us! It’s a great community that we’re building here—& thanks to the Robots for making it possible!
